Koro Technical and Management InstituteThe National Diploma in Fashion Design at Koro Technical and Management Institute is a competency-based programme designed to equip students with the creative, technical, and entrepreneurial skills required to excel in Uganda's growing fashion and textile industry. The programme prepares graduates to conceptualize, design, produce, and market high-quality garments, fashion accessories, and textile products that meet local, regional, and international market demands.

The curriculum combines fashion design theory with extensive practical training in garment construction, pattern drafting, textile science, fashion illustration, computer-aided fashion design (CAD), clothing technology, merchandising, fashion marketing, entrepreneurship, quality control, and production management. Students also undertake industrial training and practical projects to gain hands-on experience in fashion houses, garment manufacturing companies, tailoring enterprises, and related industries.Upon successful completion, graduates will be qualified to work as Fashion Designers, Garment Production Technicians, Pattern Makers, Textile and Apparel Technicians, Fashion Illustrators, Merchandisers, Costume Designers, Production Supervisors, Fashion Entrepreneurs, and Quality Control Officers in fashion houses, textile industries, apparel manufacturing companies, retail businesses, vocational institutions, NGOs, and self-employment ventures. The programme also provides a strong foundation for further studies in fashion design, textile technology, apparel production, and related disciplines.The programme is aligned with Uganda's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) framework and supports the country's industrialization agenda by producing competent fashion professionals capable of promoting innovation, value addition, job creation, and sustainable growth within the creative and textile sectors.
